Immortality of Ma

Ma, a term first uttered by every child on the earth. The child is physically attached to the biological mother from the time of conceiving till delivery through the placenta. In fact, the mental development of the child also happens in the womb of the mother!! This mother bears all the physical pain and sufferings to show the child, the light of the world. She nurtures and cares for the child and becomes part of the sadness and happiness through the child’s development stages. This relationship of the mother and child is as beautifully knit as the dawn and the dusk. Finally, a time comes when this mother leaves her physical body and moves on to a new life. Is this physical dissociation a real end to this intricate association? In the ordinary perspective, physical absence means mortality. Scientifically, however, the genes of the mother are carried in the child, so the biological mother, in a real sense, lives on and attains immortality. There is another aspect of Ma, not a biological

A New Birth into a Spiritual Life

There is a considerable amount of talk about being “born again” in the modern-day Christian tradition. When we explore what is meant, it seems like it is a matter of accepting in one’s heart a certain belief set central to the denomination that espouses this idea. There does not seem to be any experiential activity required, other than an acceptance of faith in the belief system. There is, however, a different understanding and interpretation of an individual undergoing a new birth, and that is based on the individual making a definitive shift to the divine standpoint from the egoistic human standpoint. Once that shift occurs, it dominates the way one sees, thinks and acts. It is not a matter of mental belief or vital adherence, but a matter of a true alteration in the very way one lives and breathes. When various countries sent astronauts (or sometimes called ‘cosmonauts’) into outer space, the participants experienced a profound and life-altering change of standpoint, which may help

The Miracle at Vermont

My wife and I wanted our young kids to experience the countryside, and life on a farm. So we took them to a rural part of Vermont, a state in the northern US, for a vacation. The state is known for its dairy farms and green pastures. On the way, we stopped at the Matagiri Center in New York, to seek blessings from Mother. It was our first visit there, and we ended up spending half a day, much more time than what was originally planned for. We were the only visitors, and got an opportunity to chat with our host Julian and his wife. It was a memorable first visit. The trip onwards was plagued by car trouble. The car's transmission broke, and we got stranded on a highway. But it was afternoon time, and we were close to Stowe, a popular tourist town. A farmer happened to be close by and guided us to the nearest garage. We thanked the Mother for the help, booked a rental car, and continued our trip. But even the rental car started showing signs of trouble. My wife felt that a dark force

The Gravity of Joy

A single stride crosses the barrier, Opening a vista to new worlds. A horizon is overstepped, And what had seemed impossible Now is done.   Behind all the probing and measuring, Within the urge to scrutinize and dissect, Is the soul's aspiration to know, Rushing like a river toward the falls.   The gravity of joy in discovery, The triumph of proof, Draw us toward the edge. In a breathless moment we are airborne, Sailing into the unknowable abyss, Which opens its arms to catch us And reveals its hidden heart, Its secret self.   What lies beyond the horizon Will one day be beneath our feet. - Matthew Andrews (AVI USA) Keywords: Aspiration, Self-discovery, Spiritual evolution
